Modest Mouse seems to have turned a new leaf and become more socially responsible. Quite a tall task for a band whose beginnings started with Jails and accusations. The band has a new EP called “No One’s First, You’re Next” that came out August 4, 2009. The album is a set of B-Sides that fills in the blanks. They also will be touring this summer and have a brand new video produced by Heath Ledger, never before seen.
Ingrid Michaelson has gone from a flash in the pan to the pan that keeps on sizzling. She started out as a precocious young talent with her first release in 2005 “Slow the Rain” and saw her stock rise with each subsequent album. Cartel, the alternative rock band from Atlanta, Georgia that is made up of Will Pugh (vocals, guitar, and piano), Joseph Pepper (guitar), Nic Hudson (guitar and harmonizing backing vocals), Jeff Lett (bass and harmonizing backing vocals), and Kevin Sanders (drums), released Cycles on October 20, 2009. In less than 24 hours since its release, Cycles is already at #3 on the iTunes Alternative Albums Chart.
